Once the client has graduated Phase I, he will enter Phase II. During this phase, which lasts 30 to 60 days, clients will receive a minimum of 15 hours of clinical programming each week, which includes 1 to 2 individuals a week. He will also meet with our Medical Director twice a month. The intention of Phase II is to allow less structure while still maintaining the habits he was developing in Phase I. Clients still require structure and the daily schedule includes process groups, outside support meetings, and recreational activities with their peers. Clients will participate in hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and snowboarding trips (depending on the season). Other activities will include longboarding, boating, and even paddle boarding, with process groups happening in the middle of a lake.
Many of our clients will also have the option to participate in any of our local sober sports leagues such as softball, soccer, volleyball, golf, and basketball. We realize some of our clients will not care about sports, which is fine. We will ask they cheer the teams on, though. Phase I and II will also have family style dinners nightly at EVNSQ. Our aim here is to continue with the connections with the EVNSQ community and is how the brotherhood continues.
Prior to entering Phase III, our staff will guide clients through preparing for the next phase. Prior to entering the next phase, clients will need to have a part-time job/or be in school, have a sponsor (or equivalent), a home group, and have been on solid footing within his program, evidenced by his benchmarks (achieving all internal requirements, being a man of his word, getting enough sleep, etc.). He will have also authored his Phase III program prior to Phase II graduation. By this time in the program, our team will have complete understanding of his abilities. We will be pushing him to reach his potential, which requires us not to do for him what he can do for himself. We will make sure we understand what he can and cannot do himself and build the program around this information.
